Record-Setting Research Colby students set a record for participation at Colby's ninth annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, April 30-May 2. More than 650 students—about a third of the student body—gave talks or presented posters during the three-day symposium and associated sessions. Presentations ranged from what may be the first econometric study of The Effect of Religious Participation on Suicide to an environmental studies project, The Carbon Emissions of the Boston Red Sox. Seventy-four faculty members mentored students from 27 programs and departments. Abstracts of hundreds of research projects are available online. |
